Copowi

Posted in General by site admin on the August 20th, 2007

Copowi is an ISP that claims to guarantee net neutrality.

I recently moved out of Speakeasy range, and am quite happy with my new 10Mb down / 1Mb up cable connection through Charter, so I don’t think I’ll be able to support their cause just yet.

Either way, a company that makes a point to stand behind a worthy cause and even make it part of their business model should not be overlooked. I applaud them for at least making ethical standards both a feature and a product. They even give each user a copy of Ubuntu too.

Would I pay a company more for a service if I believed in their cause? Yes.

I’d love for a company like this to succeed, and prove that there’s money to be made in the promotion of good.

Has anyone heard from Richard Stallman?

He is supposed to be in Peru, near the earthquake area.

I heard that people are trying to get in touch with him to confirm he is ok.

Let’s hope he is safe and well.

Waiting for an update

UPDATE: Stallman is with the group in Trujillo and is OK.

Regardless of what you believe, do your own research.

Update: Here’s a NYTimes article that attempts to poke holes in many of Russo’s Income Tax related claims.
